Surf the Way You Want To You can now choose how you are charged when you surf the net on your phone be it by KB (kilobyte) or by TIME (per minute).
- KB Browsing Rate
This kind of charging is best for info-based browsing like browsing for the latest news or movie schedules, searching online dictionaries and checking sports stats. Since you are charged only P0.15/kb, a search for the definition to a puzzling word would only cost P2.30 while checking that movie schedule would only cost about P1.62.
- Time Browsing Rate
This charging scheme is best used for multimedia-based activities like sending and receiving files through email or even viewing pictures and videos. All these are done more affordably when you use Time Charging at P5 for 15minutes. |
 | *Time Browsing Rate is open to Globe Prepaid, Postpaid Consumer Accounts, SME and Corporate accounts. Not applicable to subscribers on Data Plans (i.e. Visibility). Time Browsing rate effective upon receipt of text confirmation. Succeeding connections will be charged P5 for 15 minutes. If disconnected within the 15 minutes, reconnection will be considered a new session charged at P5. No refund will be made if disconnected before the 15mins are up. Applicable to browsing within the Philippines only.

Surfing on your phone or on your laptop is just as easy!
- Browsing on your cellphone
- Open the wap browsing application on your cellphone.
- As a default, you will be directed to the myGlobe wapsite.
- From there you can browse for content or other available wapsites.
- You can also type in the web address or url of the wapsite to go directly to that wapsite.
Note: Some phones are also equipped with website browsing applications meaning you can view not just wapsites but actual websites. Viewing experience will vary due to size of the phone screen.
- Using your cellphone as a modem
- Cellphone models nowadays come with applications that will allow the phone to function as a modem when plugged onto a laptop/pc using a connecting cable. Please check with the phone manufacturer for this feature, CD installer, cable and manual.
- Using your handset as a modem means that you are connecting to Globe Telecom’s wireless network through your Globe SIM.

Having a harder time riding the waves? Slow connection / slowdown in browsing may be affected by several factors:
-
"Slow" is a relative adjective to use If the point of comparison is a desktop/laptop connected to a DSL internet, browsing on the handset will comparably be slower.
-
Handset's Processing Power A phone’s processing and browser-capabilities have to be considered as well. Think of this as similar to your computer’s processing power which could be a Pentium 1 or 4, with the higher number being faster and more advanced. |
 |
-
Handset + Network How fast a web page opens is dependent on both the handset-capability and the signal currently being received. Ex. GPRS phone can only connect using GPRS signal.
-
Handset's Network Settings / Mode Even if your location is capable of HSDPA access, you may be connected to a different Internet access. Make sure that your handset is configured/ locked to 3G/HSDPA or UMTS so you get the best speed when you are in a 3G/HSDPA covered area.
-
You're in a High-Traffic Area High-traffic area means that in that area, there are numerous subscribers using Globe’s mobile network and as such network resources/bandwidth is shared among them. This is similar to the experience over Wi-Fi where as there are more users connecting to Wi-Fi in a coffeeshop, you may experience lower access speed.
-
The website you are connected to has too many visitors Too many viewers/users may clog a specific website and be temporarily inaccessible. This is usually experienced in online gaming sites, popular blogs, and even web applications such as Internet messengers (e.g. YM, Google Talk) and Internet radio. We encourage you to access these sites during off-peak hours. Note however that this problem is independent of your Internet connection/ Globe mobile internet service. |
